Image of the Month: May 2013

I'm a firm believer that one doesn't have to travel far to discover shots worth capturing with your camera.  In fact, I really find more than a fair share when just canvasing the neighborhood so to speak.  This occasion was a particularly rainy day in "the D" (Detroit).  While looking out from an upper floor office I was mesmerized by the interplay of all the geometric lines of the fire escape, buildings, and mesh design within the window itself.  Adding to that, the obvious raindrops firmly embracing the window added more texture to what otherwise may have been just another pedestrian example.

Another element that I find pleasing are the warm colors of the brick buildings in the background.  And yes that all important word...background.  This depth of field offers something for the viewer in the fore, middle and background; always a plus!  So, all in all, the graphic elements of the geometry, warm colors and great depth of field I think make this image worth a second look.
